Flight attendant, blogging about life at altitude

My name is Nadya, and I have spent more time in the air than most people spend in traffic jams over an entire lifetime. Eight years in a flight attendant's uniform, thousands of hours at ten thousand meters, hundreds of cities glimpsed through a porthole window. I have watched sunrises over Tokyo while passengers slept, and sprinted through the transit zone in Dubai at four in the morning searching for a decent cup of coffee. It gets under your skin.

The blog happened by accident. In 2021, I started jotting notes on my phone right there on the plane - between announcements and meal service. Just so I wouldn't forget the details. The smell of a market in Bangkok. The color of the sky over the Atlantic in February. A tiny coffee shop in Vienna that I managed to duck into forty minutes before check-in. Then I realized people were actually reading those notes. So I decided to write for real.

I didn't quit my job to travel - I use my job as a ticket. My schedule gives me what others spend years saving up for: stopovers in Seoul, nights in Lisbon, mornings in Montreal. Sometimes I have eighteen hours in an unfamiliar city, and I know exactly how to make the most of them. No rushing. No tourist traps. Just the city and me.

I write honestly here. About what Paris looks like when you're visiting for the third time and you're not racing to the Eiffel Tower anymore. About how to find a place to stay near the airport without losing your mind. About the tips I've picked up over years of flying - packing, food, routes. I have been exhausted, lost my belongings, missed connections, and once spent a night at Helsinki airport in a reclining chair. With me, you'll be ready for anything.

If you look at flight schedules the way other people look at wish lists - welcome. We'll understand each other perfectly.
